Introducing Atmos Forge: AI-Powered Skybox Creation for Games and 3D Worlds
Creating a compelling game world begins long before the player takes their first step. The sky, horizon, lighting, and distant environment establish the scale and atmosphere of everything that follows.
Today, Big Monk Games is officially launching Atmos Forge, a browser-based creative tool for generating, editing, and exporting immersive 360° skyboxes and HDRI environments.
Whether you’re building an alien planet, a floating fantasy kingdom, a stylized cartoon world, or a realistic sunset, Atmos Forge helps turn a simple idea into an environment ready for your creative workflow.
Generate Complete Worlds From a Prompt
Atmos Forge allows developers and artists to describe the environment they envision using natural language. The platform then generates a complete 360° equirectangular panorama that can surround a game level, 3D scene, virtual production, or interactive experience.
You can create environments ranging from:
Fantasy kingdoms and floating islands
Alien planets and deep-space nebulae
Realistic mountains, oceans, and sunsets
Dark ruins and horror landscapes
Retro PS1-inspired worlds
Cozy low-poly environments
Colorful cartoon adventures
Dreamlike and surreal spaces
Built-in style presets help establish a visual direction quickly, while custom prompts give creators the freedom to experiment.
More Than an AI Image Generator
Generating the initial panorama is only the beginning. Atmos Forge was designed around the practical problems that arise when turning an AI-generated image into a usable skybox.
Creators can enhance and refine their environments directly within the platform by:
Repairing visible panorama seams
Adding planets, moons, and suns
Expanding or enriching starfields
Introducing volumetric nebulae and atmospheric effects
Adding sprites and environmental elements
Adjusting HDR exposure
Improving distant horizons
Exporting complete cubemap face sets
These tools make it possible to transform an initial generation into a more deliberate and production-ready environment without moving through several disconnected applications.
Built for Real Development Workflows
Atmos Forge supports common game-development and 3D workflows, including:
Unity
Unreal Engine
Godot
Blender
Three.js
React Three Fiber
Babylon.js
Other engines and custom renderers
Finished environments can be exported as standard equirectangular images or packaged cubemap faces. Atmos Forge also provides engine-specific guidance to help creators move their skyboxes into their projects.
Depending on the selected plan, environments can be generated and exported at resolutions up to 4K.
From Realism to Saturday-Morning Cartoons
Atmos Forge is not limited to one visual style.
A creator can generate a cinematic nebula filled with distant stars and gas giants, then use the same platform to build a colorful cartoon sky filled with exaggerated clouds and floating islands.
That flexibility makes Atmos Forge useful for indie games, prototypes, virtual worlds, architectural scenes, animation projects, promotional artwork, and experimental environments.
The tool is designed to support a creator’s direction—not impose its own.
Designed for Independent Creators
At Big Monk Games, we build tools that help individuals and small teams accomplish more without requiring enterprise-scale resources.
Atmos Forge follows that philosophy. It combines AI generation with procedural editing tools so creators can move from an idea to a usable environment more quickly while retaining control over the final result.
Our goal is not simply to generate an image. It is to provide a focused creative workspace for constructing the world beyond the horizon.
Try Atmos Forge
Atmos Forge is now available at atmosforge.app.
A free plan is available for creators who want to explore the platform and generate their first environments. Additional plans provide higher-resolution rendering, expanded exports, reference-image tools, larger project libraries, and increased generation capacity.
Create the sky. Shape the atmosphere. Build the world around it.
